The lemon on my tongue says you’re wrong
for this, and for everything you’ve done
Sour and tangy, but you promised sweet,
I guess the sweet was all imaginary
It’s all fancy to you, cos it’s yellow
But it’s calm for me, it’s mellow
Till I silently walk away, knowing you won’t follow
Knowing your words have always been hollow
Empty, as a dry coconut
All the time we spent has now been for naught
And I’m tired of wishing for what’s best for you,
cos you don’t even do that for yourself
Saying all the benefits of this fruit,
but you won’t even cut some slices for yourself
All the sweets and junk that I took,
has done more for me than your so-called good
And I’m supposed to be the bigger person?
When all I got from this relationship is a lesson
I keep wishing to myself that it was an orange,
then it would’ve been a lesser damage
I guess I will be dying on the hill, “the devil you know, is better than the angel you don’t”
So, I’ll leave your karma to time, cos it could’ve also been a lime.
