Unrequited Love

At times like this I sit down

and reflect on your love I never tasted

When all my advances were turned down,

my affections were wasted

Compliments meant nothing to you

Statements like “I miss you” or “I like you”

never rocked your boat

You’d say “boy you’re so funny”

Though I never laughed,

I never meant it as a joke

You complained about my silence,

when I hardly said a word

Now I wish I never spoke

I wrote you letters and notes,

thinking you liked the chase

That was just wishful thinking

You never gave me a face

Even though I have fallen blindly,

I still hope your love would find me

This is the worst kind of love,

the one-sided love
