We’ve all been hurt somehow,
packing at least one trauma, or two
While we forge ahead with the pain accrued,
our past is a part of who we are now
But how we decide to heal, shapes our future
So what do you do to cover up your scars?
What do you do when you’re at the end of your ropes,
What do you do to recover some hope?
Is it the spontaneous shopping sprees, or the recurring fancy trips?
Is it solitude, or the introspective thoughts when you’re somber?
Is it continuous reliance on substances to numb the pain, or the thrill of danger?
Do you choose to seek revenge when there’s a bigger picture than to settle scores?
Do you recluse and have it all bottled up, or do you couple up to cover up?
“You get over someone by getting under another”, they say
But that’s temporary, cos a ship with a weak base is doomed to sink
A heart is more fragile than you think
Your healing process determines how visible your scar is
Scars don’t explain who we are, they just tell the stories
You’re not healed when there’s residual pain recurring
I guess how you heal depends on how deep the hurt is
Desperation does bring out the worst in us
But we have to remember what we’re fighting for
You get a clearer picture when you stop and focus
Finding what lies within, when outside is all a noise
The best form comes from when the core is reinforced
We have to seek what’s inside of all of us,
The rest is all a blur
