To be fair, some things you do
Makes me realize I’m not enough for you
Makes me feel less, knowing that you want more
Plus, I’m such a mess, far from what you long for
Staying forever beside me?
Who am I kidding
My wishful, thinking you’d find none better
I’m hopeful, believing I can do better
For myself, and for us
It’s only a matter of time, I suppose
But I must’ve forgotten
That time for us moves differently
Hence, the reason I can barely oppose your actions
And never doubt your intentions
Nor the feelings in your heart
But before us, stands these barriers that serve only to derail us
This is one thing I’m afraid of
That one day I would wake up and realize that I have fallen short
Fallen short of your worth
Fallen short of your time,
Fallen short of your attention
And fallen short of your companionship
So, I will understand if you decide to leave
If you think the future is grim for you and me
If you think our plans is only but a dream
I won’t question or hate you for your action
But if you choose to stay
To stand by me and weather the storm
To build a future far better than today
And refine this love to its purest form
Then I’ll only ask for your patience
For we will build a castle from these rock pebbles
We will turn our story to the greatest feeble
And make the wind echo our existence
